Quilts at the Shelburne Museum, October 2008 |
|
|
Our vacation to Vermont included a trip to the Shelburne Museum. There was a quilt exhibit. Most
of the quilts were from 1850 - early 1900s. They were hanging behind glass in large swinging doors. Because
of the limited space, I wasn't able to get a straight on photograph of many of them and the glass caused some
distortion and glare. However, they are not bad. |

Here are the modern quilts. What follows from this point were part of a contest. Any technique was
allowed, so we have piecing, applique,
fabric painting, beads and embellishments and more.
Below this line is a quilt of an orchid. Below that is a picture of a live orchid that they had on a stand next to the quilt.
