March 2003

A friend, who is pregnant, is unable to find scrub tops. My wife, without thinking, told her, "Don't worry, Larry can make some." Here is my first. I eventually made 5.

I also quilted 5 quilts that were delivered to the Children's hospital in Tamps, FL. Many ladies at the local quilt shop are willing to piece and bind the quilts, but most don't enjoy the quilting. I quilted all five with 2" squares.

April 2003

I made a 9-patch quilt for my Aunt Grace in Atlanta.

I also made this wall hanging for a friend's condo.

August 2003

I made a 'Rail Fence' quilt for Nichole's best friend's birthday. I drew the pattern in Electric Quilt 5, and used it as a model for the quilt. I tied this every 2" instead of quilting it.

I started making seasonal covers for the mantle over our fire place. The first was for Halloween, this is Thanksgiving's.

This is my first attempt at a vest for Joanna. She asked for one for Christmas. She liked it and wore it several times during the holidays. I made a second vest out of fabric that had a holiday theme with musical notes on it. This was appropriate because Joanna is a piano teacher.

An all flannel quilt for Nichole and Gizmo (my daughter and her dog) to snuggle with while watching TV. The light colored block says, "Daddy Loves You."

When Nichole first started school, on the first day of school every year until she graduated from high school, I would put in her purse or lunch a note that said, "Daddy Loves You." Since she is grown and does not live at home, I have not been able to do that any longer.

This quilt will be a constant reminder.

I made a baby quilt for Dillon. His mom is the friend who got the scrubs tops. I also made a smaller version of the same blanket for Dillon's canine brother, Oscar.

A watercolor quilt - grand piano. This was a Christmas gift for my wife. This quilt is only 18" x 22" and is made up of 1" squares. It took almost as long to make as a much larger quilt.
